Were Moving Forward at Neck Breaking Speed!!!

I apologize for not blogging lately, I've been Uberbusy going over every detail of our Expanded Rapid HIV Testing Intiative and to date we have had one Rapid HIV Tester Training at the Lummi Health Clinic where we trained 3 people, one Rapid HIV Field Testing event at Tulalip Medical Clinic - Men's Wellness Day where we were able to test and counsel 7 men, 5 of which had never previously been tested for HIV, and we are in the process of training personnel at the Suboxone Clinic - CD Org at Lummi, The Suboxone Clinic at Tulalip, and the Staff Nurses and Support Personnel at the Tulalip Medical clinic.  We've developed 4 I.H.S. approved RHTI PSA posters which at 10"X21" and beautifully designed, 98 posters for Lummi and Tulalip have been printed and are ready for distribution.  We have designed a Info Flyer which was intended for a bulk mailing but which is now going out through mass media via the Lummi and Tulalip Community Newspapers, we will also be utilizing their facebook, and YouTube pages.  We are also in negotiation with CanuTV in Tulalip to run promos on their cable TV network which is also viewed by guests at their world reknown Tulalip Hotel & Casino.  These are exciting times!  We've also developed new RHTI Training Guides, and RHT Tester's Kits which are going out to the Health Clinics and CD orgs of Lummi, Nooksack, Upper-Skagit, Swinomish, & Tulalip, one of which has already gone out to the Lummi Health Clinic.  We have already ordered and received 400 Orasure OraQuick ADVANCE Oral Rapid HIV 1/2 Antibody Test Kits.  They will be distributed after the trainings.

ALL THIS in just over two months.  We just can hardly believe all this is happening, and we would like to personally and professionally thank all the tribal members and support people who are helping us in our endeavor to end HIV/AIDS in Indian Country.  Out hats are already off!

Thank You,   Ken
