It's About Time!

Sorry I haven't been very vigilant about keeping up with this post.  Weve been working our butts off trying to get all the tribal clinics trained for our Expanded Rapid HIV Testing Initiative.  HERE'S GREAT NEWS, we trained Nooksack medical staff and we now have Lummi, Tulalip, and Nooksack trained and already testing.  Tulalip started their testing initiative a month ago, and Nooksack has been testing for about the same time.  Lummi started testing back in February.  We just finished our 2nd year submission for our continuation grant.  We're really excited about the coming year as we will begin our Expanded Rapid HIV Tester Training for Ordinary Tribal MemberVolunteers.  Anyone interested in becoming a Rapid HIV Tester or Tester Trainer please contact us by going to our website at www.ti-chee.org .  We will also be recruiting Testing Event Planners, Testing Event Coordinators, and Testing Event Staff.

In addition to all that, we will be starting our Youth and Pre-teen HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention Outreach and youth project development by bringing on a volunteer/intern that will eventually become our Youth Outreach Coordinator.  As we've stated before, our goal is to get every tribal member between the ages of 13 and 64 tested so that we can make a significant difference in stopping the spread of HIV/AIDS here in Indian Country.

Can I get an AMEN!

That's all for now... I'm gonna make a effort to keep up to date with this blog in the future.

PEACE

Ken Lamb
