Hi all and welcome back to another edition of "As Ti-chee Turns". We have developed messaging as follows... "As a member of your TRIBE, it is eveyone's responsibility to get an HIV test and know your status. It is what we do for our PEOPLE!..." you will find this message on every page on our Web site as well as future physical sites such as the Lummi, Tulalip, Nooksack, Upper Skagit, and Swinomish Tribal Health Clinics, Community, and Government Buildings. All physical public meeting places on Tribal land here in Northwestern WA will have one of these signs posted somewhere for public viewing. This is part of our over-all strategy to get ALL tribal members between the ages of 13 and 64 tested for HIV.
New NEWS!!! - Ti-chee processed and tested 30 college students, staff, and tribal members on Monday, June 27, 2011 on National HIV Testing Day. We are happy to report that nobody tested positive and Ti-chee will continue to work closely with the Northwest Indian College, Lummi Campus, Lummi, Nooksack, Upper Skagit, Swinomish, and Tulalip on other testing events to help encompass more tribal members in our Expanded Rapid HIV Testing Initiative.
New NEWS!!! - On July 14, 2011, we trained 6 back-end staff and management at the Upper Skagit Tribal Health Clinic. We were able to complete their training with success and excellent Q&A concerning accreditation, compliance, and policy. We are very grateful and wish to thank Upper Skagit staff for their participation in this very important initiative and their warm hospitality.
Other NEWS!!! - It is our intention to train Swinomish Tribal Health Clinic staff and management by early August. That will make 5 tribal clinic participants in our I.H.S initiative.
Thanks,
Thats all for now
