HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I know I said I would blog weekly, so here is my second attempt at keeping that promise.  I've placed a post it on my desk lamp in an attempt at creating a daily reminder to keep this blog updated on, at least, a weekly basis.  So here it goes.  We are on the cusp of completion for our Expanded Rapid HIV Testing Initiative regarding the logistics and participant phase concerning the 5 tribes, Lummi, Nooksack, Upper Skagit, Swinomish, and Tulalip.  Before Christmas break we were able to complete the Rapid HIV Tester Training for Upper Skagit and they have switched into high gear in the implementation of this test in their Universal Testing Process.  They are the fouth clinic to do so and we are awaiting Swinomish's appointment of a training candidate for our Training for Trainers for Rapid HIV Tester Training.  Swinomish already has a progressive HIV testing protocol in place and will be adding the Rapid HIV Test Oral to their aresenal of testing procedures.  Once this is in place these five tribes will of been the first in Washington State and the U.S. to integrate this testing procedure in a cooperative effort under the Indian Health Service National HIV Program umbrella.  We are very proud to be the catalyst which has brought this to fruition.  Ti-chee is dedicated to ending the spread of HIV/AIDS in Indian Country both here locally and Nationally.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions for us here at Ti-chee please feel free to contact us at tichee@msn.com or go to our website at www.ti-chee.org for additional contact info.

Till next week, happy New Year and Peace and Prosperity to all.
